Is there any similar celebration in Spain? Post your comments about this on the blog.
Now, it's time to investigate and read more about this topic. Follow these steps to complete the final task:
1. Visit the following site about British culture http://projectbritain.com/ and have a look at the headings on the right.
2. Clic on "etiquette" and carefully read the information it gives about social norms in Britain. Note down the things which are similar or different to Spanish social customs and tell us about some of them
3. Finally, in pairs make a similar list for visitors to your country and hand it to me before Octuber 14.
Post your comments on the blog, and don't forget to include your name in the entry, otherwise, it will be anonymous, and therefore, not evaluated.
Be careful with spelling, vocabulary, grammar, etc.

I think that the first video is similar to military parade of the 12th October in Spain. And the second, if this isn't similar to King's message at Christmas, I don't know that it is xDD
ReplyDeleteBa bye!
Francisco
In my opinion the first video is like a day of Pilar, and the second video is a bit like the king's speech at Christmas but not quite the same because in Spain don't do this journey till the king's speech.

ReplyDeleteI'm Isa Pérez. The first video is quite similar to 12th October in Spain, the Hispanity Day. The second video is like the Nation's discuss in Spain where the President and his opposite talk about the situacion of the country, but in UK just the Queen talks, because the Prime minister is quiet in the video.
I see you tomorrow...bye!=)

Hi Amalia!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm Laura. The first video is similar to 12th October in Spain and the second video I don't remember anything :S I don't understood...
byeee!! :D
In the first case most of you are right. It is a military parade similar to October 12 in Spain; it commemorates the Queen's Official Birhtday, taking place every year in June.
ReplyDeleteIn the second place, it's the annual opening of Parliament by the Queen. The tradition of the Queen's delivery and the ceremony are traditions coming from the 16th century, when monarchs used to have more power that the have now.
